Backyard Bowl
Backyard Bowl is a Brawl Ball map that lacks bushes and walls, and has an open center with two 2x3 walls on the sides. The goals have two three-tile entrances with a three-tile opening, and there is fencing and goal barriers near each goal. Here are some tips for playing on this map:
Sharpshooters like Piper and Brock are recommended due to the open space. Throwers are at a disadvantage on this map because they need confined closed spaces to perform well. Heavyweights can work well with the right team, but Jacky is only above-average compared to other Brawlers on this map. Medium-ranged Brawlers should be careful when hiding behind enemy walls because some Brawlers like Mr. P and Jacky can attack over/through them. Destroying barriers on this map is great, but there aren't many viable Brawlers that can do this and perform well. 8-Bit can substitute as a tank on this map, doing massive damage at any range and being able to withstand attacks from lower damage output Brawlers. Jacky can be used aggressively with a brawler that can break walls easily like El Primo with his Asteroid Belt Gadget. Colt's Silver Bullet Gadget can be used to break down your opponent's cover, while Brock's Rocket Fuel Gadget is less effective for thin, long walls. Stu can be useful with his quick Super charge and passing abilities, and his gadget can break down walls. Frank can use his Super to destroy enemy cover and score easier. Sprout is excellent on this map as he can utilise his super very well here, blocking off lanes and defending goals.
